Put it all together and it means..

"To knead or massage beyond the further side of ordinary"

 

What is Cosmo-Politan Massage?

 Tosmos

• The universe seen as a well-ordered whole

• A system of thought

• The world or universe regarded as an orderly, harmonious system

  The cosmos is the sum total of everything

• Plural noun: cosmoses
   

The suffix "politan" is from the Greek "polis" meaning city. Metro came from the word meter, meaning 'mother' so the word metropolitan would mean mother city!

 

What is the Matrix?

How does Massage Work?

Relaxation Responses

 

 

The relaxation response is a state in which your heart and breathing rate slow, your blood pressure goes down, your production of stress hormones decreases, and your muscles relax. The relaxation response also seems to increase the available level of serotonin, which is a chemical in the body that positively affects emotions and thoughts. While this information is promising, more studies are needed to directly confirm the relationship between massage and levels of serotonin in the brain.

The relaxation response may decrease the physical effects of stress

Improving Circulation

Massage is believed to improve blood and lymph circulation. This is probably due partly to the physical manipulation of soft tissue and partly to the chemicals released as part of the relaxation response.

 Osmosis is the spontaneous net movement of solvent molecules through a semi-permeable membrane into a region of higher solute concentration, in the direction that tends to equalize the solute concentrations on the two sides.
